Georgia Halakos Faith-Led Philanthropist

Georgia Halakos was born Wilmington, Delaware, and raised in the parish of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Wilmington. She received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Delaware and has worked in real estate since that time.

Georgia is a Principal of Tsionas Properties, a real estate investment group with numerous commercial and residential holdings throughout the region.

Beyond her work, Georgia was involved on various school committees while her two children, Billy and Dia, were of school age, as well as a GOYA Advisor and Greek School PTO President. She, along with her husband Demitris, now serves on the University of Delaware Parent and Family Leadership Council.

Georgia is a member of the Holy Trinity Parish Council and has held various officer positions, including President, for several years. Currently, she is the Vice President of the Parish Council and President of the Church’s Philoptochos Society and has a seat on the Metropolis of New Jersey Philoptochos Board.

Georgia is also a Co-Chair of the Philadelphia Chapter of the National Hellenic Society. She currently serves as President of the Federation of Hellenic American Societies of Philadelphia and Greater Delaware Valley. Together with Demitris, she is a member of “Leadership 100.”

Driven by their faith, they are engaged in several philanthropic endeavors both within and outside of parish life.
