Friends of the Museum
Imagine the first Greeks that set foot in Philadelphia more than 125 years ago. What did they see?
They saw a growing, bustling city, people that looked, sounded, and dressed differently, large, steel-framed buildings jutting into the sky, and a language they did not understand. It was something they had never seen or witnessed before.
But more importantly, they saw the opportunity, and they grabbed it and held on as they were catapulted into the fabric of our great City, Philadelphia, and the American experience.
125 years later, the Greek-American community that our forefathers began thrives today in the successes of their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and where they once said, “Only in America!” we now say, “God Bless America!” for giving our ancestors and us a basic human right – opportunity.
So now, we, the descendants of those first Greeks have pledged not to forget the sacrifices they made when they built a new home in the new world, and to preserve our Greek-American experience that continues today and far into the future. We too must build a new home so that we may tell our story and preserve the heritage of millions of Greek-American from all walks of life. The Greek American Heritage Society of Philadelphia asks that you be part of this continuing great experience and donate so that we may build a home we can proudly call our own.

The Greek American Heritage Society of Philadelphia is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization. All donations made to the Society are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
