With a liberal arts education and love of the arts, Penelope’s entrepreneurial and collector spirit led her from museum work at the Philadelphia Museum of Art into the Philadelphia gallery scene with the nationally recognized Lagakos Turak Gallery. Specializing in American paintings she continues art consulting and collecting.
Penelope served on the Board of the Friends of Art at Sweet Briar College in Virginia as well as the Young Friends of The Scheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia.
The growth of Kastania Olive Oil, a family-owned and operated business, is Penelope’s primary focus. Their organic extra virgin olive oil won the 2018 New York International Olive Oil Competition Gold Award. The product stems from her paternal Lagakos grandfather’s village of Kastania, in the Mani Region of Greece. In helping to build this company and working with family Penelope and her husband Andrei Constantinidi enthusiastically bring their natural health products to the tri-state area through farmer’s markets, specialty retail stores, and Greek Festivals.
Penelope also enjoys helping her son Gregory Francis Turak in his entrepreneurial endeavors.
