Philly’s Historic Greektown Rises Again Little is left of Philadelphia’s iconic Greektown, and while most have passed and the memory has begun to fade, the Greek American Heritage Society of Philadelphia is on a quest to preserve that history with a Pennsylvania Historical Marker.
Moving forward, a new President at GAHSP GAHSP hosted its annual election earlier this month. Many new faces were elected to the board and administration. Artemis “Tami” Demetris Tsingiropoulos took the reins, as the new president of GAHSP, from Desie Boston, who ran the organization the past two years.
GAHSP is seeking an intern to work on a specific component of the digital archive project The digital archive includes artifacts of local Greek American historical significance, which are physically housed at the GAHSP Heritage Center facility located at the St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Philadelphia.
