Christina Vraim

Christina Vraim Comforting The Greek Community
Christina Vraim simply wanted to be known as “Yiayia.” Devoted wife to her husband, John Vraim (Vraimopoulos), the couple opened the Vraim Funeral Home in 1950, the first Greek-American funeral home in the Philadelphia area. The business was passed down to her son, and now her grandsons, David and Michael run the business.
She was the mother of Anthony and Connie, and grandmother to Michael, Lenny, David, and Stephanie and great-grandmother to Ava, Elizabeth, Ella, Jake, Mason, AJ, Lila, Mila, and Emily. Christina and her husband were one of the founding members of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, now located in Upper Darby.
Christina’s father was from the City of Yanina and her mother from Velvendo. Christina loved being Greek, the language, the music, the dancing, and her religion.
