Anna Trantas

The picture here is of my paternal grandmother, Anna Trantas. The Trantas family was a huge part of the Greeks on Locust Street. I heard stories of my grandmother going door-to-door to collect money for St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. My grandfather had a bar on Locust Street and would often go hunting and share the wealth with the entire neighborhood. My Yiayia Anna baked and sold the baked goods to give the money to the church.
