John Onassis, Last Rebeti

The Interview Series

John Onassis has been described as the last Rebetis by many in our Greek American community. A term that generally describes the type of Greek traditional man rarely seen today in North America.

Nephew to famed Shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis he was a rare glimpse of our senior generation who carry themselves in a traditional manner more historically connected with our past.

We visited and interviewed John about his life and his love of Greek Rebetika music and his marriage to Betty of 51 years.
